Duties/Responsibilities: It is imperative that diligent and unwavering efforts are established to meet the needs and interests of the Ward 2 constituents and the City of Columbus. Through an open door, open mind, and listening ear policy, thoughts, ideas, and suggestions from the people I value and serve are welcomed.

Experience: 15 plus years in retail service and dedication to the Golden Triangle as owner and independent contractor of The Floor Specialist since 1995

Family Information: wife Emlis Mickens, 7children and 1 grandchild

Interests/Hobbies: Councilman Mickens is a devoted Christian and minister. He worships at Kingdom Vision International Church in Columbus, MS. He is an avid sports fan, and enjoys traveling with family and friends.

Vision for the City of Columbus: The rapid residential and commercial growth in this area propels the visionary and advocacy of change felt by Councilman Mickens, to sustain economic development and increase employment opportunities. Councilman Mickens vows to address key issues on city drainage problems, and dilapidated houses while working to establish trust, rapport, and unity for all citizens.
