Patricia Mitchell - Human Resources Director Human Resources Director Serving Since: October 1985 Duties/Responsibilities: HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR/DEPUTY CLERK Work to create a culture of collaboration, teamwork, accountability, and innovation; oversee the recruitment and placement function for the City by attracting and retaining skilled, motivated employees; assist department heads with Human Resources matters, including conflict resolution and mediation; deep knowledge of human resource and personnel laws, regulations and procedures - to include compensation and benefits, FMLA, ADA and workers' compensation; draft and update personnel rules; maintain confidential personnel files; oversee payroll for the City of Columbus; and assist in administering the City’s group health insurance plan. Serve as Deputy Clerk in the absence of the Chief Financial Officer. EXPERIENCE: BS Degree in Business Management from MUW; Business Certificate from EMCC. Supervise two team members: Erica Bankhead, Payroll Clerk and Etta Petty, Support Clerk. Family Information: Mother of two daughters and proud grandmother. Interests / Hobbies: Enjoy sewing, baking, writing, working in New Baptist Temple M. B. Church, and various community organizations.
