Columbus Fire and Rescue is part of the Golden Triangle Regional Haz-Mat Team, made up of members from fire departments representing Columbus, Starkville, and West Point. This specialty team was formed to perform pre-planning and research into chemical and environmental emergencies and to respond to incidents that threaten life, property, and/or the environment to control the hazard.
Training
The responders have received training in Haz-Mat Technician Levels I and II, Chemistry, and WMD training from:
