He is the son of William (Renee) Smith and Latounya Smith. His grandfather, the late Charlie Smith, made history as the first Black constable in Lowndes County, while his grandmother, the late Sara Deloach, was a well-known advocate for assisting the elderly and those with limited mobility and disabilities with being able to exercise their fundamental right to vote.
